Lutefisk

What's not to love about cod soaked in lye?  For those who have never tried it, lutefisk is the consistency of fish jello, and doesn't have very much taste...but melted butter or white sauce makes it tasty.  Lutefisk dinners abound in Western Washington in season (mid-fall to mid-winter). Check out the events calendar for dates.  If you're not eager to pay to eat fish jello, it might be worth the ticket price for the meatballs or lefse that are often served with the lutefisk.
