Events

C
lick on the calendar link to see Norwegian events coming up in the greater Seattle / Puget Sound / Western Washington region.  The events calendar highlights one-time, annual, or other special public events throughout the region.  Please note that local Norwegian organizations offer many other activities on an ongoing basis - please see the links on this site to check out their offerings.

A highlight each year is Ballard's 17th of May parade, celebrating Norwegian constitution day.  The day's events also include free entertainment.  Like the U.S. Independence Day, Norwegian constitution day is always held on the same date each year, so plan ahead to get off work a little early in order to catch the festivities should the 17th fall on a weekday!

Other important annual events include Poulsbo's Viking Fest (held in mid-May), area lutefisk dinners (usually held October-December), summer celebrations such as Midsommarfest (June) and Viking Days at the Nordic Heritage Museum (August), and Christmas celebrations and bazaars.

We love receiving suggestions on events to include on our calendar!  To submit a Norwegian-related event coming up in Western Washington, please contact admin@norskseattle.com with the details.  Please provide complete information on dates, times, location, and preferably a link or contact where folks can find more information.  Please note that all events should be open to the general public.
