Summer is a good time to fill in gaps in the kids' education. How about a lesson including viking battle re-enactments and fire-pit cooking? Viking Days will be held July 16-17 at the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood. According to the NHM website, there "will be Vikings
clad in authentic costumes will demonstrate aspects of Viking life such as weaving,
spinning, woodcarving and fire-pit cooking. The Vikings will lead discussions about
Viking life on both Saturday and Sunday, and visitors will also be able to view
live performances of Viking battles. Extraordinary, traditional folk music and dancing
will be performed both days on multiple stages during Viking Days. High quality
Nordic crafts will be for sale at an array of merchant booths on site, and kids
can take part in hands-on crafts, try on Viking costumes, and other activities during
the festival." Visit their site or our events calendar for more information! |
