The greater Puget Sound area is lucky to host three Norwegian cultural summer camps for kids.

Two camps are offered through the Sons of Norway, District 2.  Camp Normanna near Arlington, Washington offers a camp for kids ages 9-12 that will take place this year July 31 - August 13.  Camp Trollhaugen is for campers ages 13-15, and runs  from June 26-July 9, 2011.  Both camps offer Norwegian language study, dancing, games, cooking, and crafts.

Attendees must either have a parent or other sponsor who is a member of a District 2 Sons of Norway lodge.  Maybe now is the time to become a member!  Plan ahead - space is limited.  A deposit can be submitted now, with the remainder of the fee due in June.  For more information, visit the District 2 site at: http://www.sofncamps.com/index.shtml.

The Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard, together with the Seattle Son's of Norway lodge, will also offer a cultural camp.  Their viking-themed daycamp for kids ages 7-11 runs from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. July 25-29, 2011 at the Nordic Heritage Museum.  Visit their site at http://www.nordicmuseum.org/education.aspx to learn more!
