Ballard's Leif Erikson Lodge will soon be celebrating Heritage Day at the lodge. This annual event features traditional Norwegian food including open face sandwiches (Smørbrød) Lefse, Krumkaker, Waffles (Vafler) Rømmegrøt and Pea Soup (Erte Suppe). There will also be Norwegian music and folk songs as well as a Norwegian folk costume (bunad) parade at 1 p.m. Vendors will be selling traditional Norwegian crafts and Scandinavian gifts, and there will be children’s activities as well.
Admission is free and open to the public.
10 a.m. - Richard Svensson and his accordion;
11 a.m. The Norwegian Male Chorus sings favorite songs in Norwegian and English;
1 p.m. the Bunad Parade;
12 p.m. folk dancing with the children of Barneleikarringen;
2 p.m. TinnFelen Hardanger Fiddle Ensemble playing gammaldans (old-time dance) music on their beautiful ebony and ivory inlaid fiddles;
3 p.m. Brenda Bard and her accordion
