Velkommen!

The greater Seattle / Puget Sound / Western Washington area offers a wide variety of Norwegian-related activities, shops and events.  For the most part, these are focused on the Norwegian cultural heritage that the immigrants of the late 1800's and early 1900's brought with them.  Lutefisk, rosemaling, and folk music may not be popular with many modern Norwegians....but they do have a vibrant existence in this area.  Contemporary Norwegian culture can also be found in the Seattle area in the form of Norwegian film showings, lectures and indie Norwegian band visits.

"Lutefisk, rosemaling and folk music....have a vibrant existence in this area.  Contemporary Norwegian culture can also be found..."

Whether you are a Norwegian who occasionally misses the taste of rullepølse or who needs to find a Norwegian language class for your spouse before you take him or her home to meet the relatives; a Norwegian-American looking to connect with others in the community or explore your cultural heritage; someone who just has an interest in Norwegian crafts and music; or just want to find where you can get a lutefisk TV dinner, we hope to help you in your search.
